Widely considered the best grand under 6' is Mason & Hamlin's claim in their liturature so when I read Jack Wyatt's email that says "It is my opinion that the 77 ranks in the top 5 5"7' 5"8's ever built. Almost with the Chickering 145 and the M-H A-3 thru A-6." I have to wonder are you leaving out 3 of the 5 or in a sense counting the M-H 4 times? (which would actually make your list 6 pianos long) I guess another interesting topic could be so called copies. If conover is like a Mason and Steinert like a Steinway - any other notible copies that could be considered bargins? I've been curious about these things for awhile and I'm glad it came up.
