[pianotech] cloudy finish

I don't expect them too Wim. I merely meant with a bit of dry humor, that
customers tell us lots of things that turn out not to be entirely accurate
is all. If it were me, I would see if you could call in a good refinisher
to see what the real problem might be.

This piano is about 15 years old, and used A LOT by the kids. I don't think
Kawai will give them a new one at this stage of the game.

That doesn't mean much. Customers tell us lots of things.. I had a nice
Schimmel grand a couple of years ago where the finish actually faded.
Looked cloudy and whitish. The finish was flawed. They wound up with a
brand new piano.

The customer claims she has never used a polish on the piano

Could be the polish they were using.

Have you tried a good cleaning?

What do I do with a light walnut satin poly Kawai where the finish is
cloudy. If this were a lacquer finish it looks like too much moisture in the
material. But this is happening on a 15 year old piano. It looks like dust,
but it won't rub off.
