[pianotech] Tight Tuning Pins

I'm with you Shawn. I really like my Faulk, but I still use my Jahn extended about 2" on pianos with tight tight tuning pins.

  extending your hammer is about the most cost affective way to deal with the situation.  I use the Faulk carbon fiber lever along with a Jahn and Watanabe extension hammers and favor neither.  I like something about all of them...  For pianos that are vary tight I usually extend my hammer about 2 inches or so.  Others prefer a little shorter and some will extend a lever as much as it will allow.  I personally like the Faulk carbon fiber lever but have not found it to be the only hammer I use.  For a while I really loved it, but the affair of love is over.  I thought of trying a Fujan but have yet to do it.  I guess I'm young enough still to not be experiencing shoulder problems so I will wait.  He offers money back if you are not satisfied, so you wouldn't be out much if you didn't like it.  The word is that Faulk is going to start making a thicker shafted lever soon as well.  I suspect he has already got the prototypes going and will be offering these soon.
