[pianotech] Baldwin Jack Alignment

Thanks Al for this suggestion too. I installed new hammers and did a rough regulation of letoff and drop. After this jack alignment I will be doing a more thorough regulation.

This is all very new to me but I am having a great time learning and working so the double duty does not bother me.

Steven

Yes Will, you should always do the let off and drop after the jack adjustments.

A caveat to add to this: Do the jack alignment before you do the let off. The rail does not always go back in exactly the same place because the holes are a bit large, and this can change your let off adjustments if you have already done them. Otherwise, removing the rail makes this adjustment very fast and easy.

I have a thin regulating tool I got from Pianotek, but I just unscrew the rail that holds the dowels. Takes less than a minute to do and saves a bunch of time in regulating.

Hello all, I can not access any archives and I imagine this is a question that was answered many times before so my apologies for repetition. I need to know what tool I need to align jacks to knuckles in a Baldwin Grand. I can't get to them easily because of the dowels for drop regulation. Thanks for the help. Steven Hopp
