Ryan, Was the player plugged in when you removed the ribbon cable to get the action out? More importantly was it still plugged into the wall when you plugged the ribbon cable back in after replacing the action? Could it be you sent a voltage spike into the unit? Is your insurance paid up? J Just a thought. I'm hoping someone out there has had this experience and has some insight! I was recently servicing a newer Story & Clark grand with a QRS Pianomation 2000CD+ system. This is just a player and doesn't record or have any sort of sensor rail that connects to the action. After tuning the piano I wanted to lubricate the hammer flanges so I pulled the action, I put the action back in and everything seemed great. A couple days later the client called to report that the player was not working. I called the company and they said there really wasn't anything that should be affected by normal servicing of the piano. He recommended just making sure all the cords were properly engaged. I went to the client's home yesterday evening and fiddled around with it but could see nothing out of place. I pulled the action again but could see nothing wrong. The box unit that attaches to the underside of the keybed comes on but won't play the disks. We tried several disks and even tried cleaning one. The screen just reads: "--" instead of displaying the number of tracks on the disk. Any ideas?
