Hi David,I wonder how old is this Estonia you are talking about. I ask because I have one at the University in Sherbrooke that was given to the music dept. I was against this poisoned gift from the start since I feel the piano has nothing. This is a 9' that sounds almost like a spinet with a huge bass. The treble just dies. No matter what voicing technique I have used, it's a dead beast. This piano is about 20 some years old. Is yours about the same "vintage"? The dept. have asked me if I could make it better and I'm really reluctant to commit. Unless with a new board???Some pianos are better left alone so they can have a nice and quiet death. But I've heard that this company has really turned around and are producing nice pianos these recent years ??Marcel Carey, RPTSherbrooke, QC> From: drjazzca at yahoo.ca> To: pianotech at ptg.org> Subject: [pianotech] Estonia pianos> > Hello> > Since the subject of an Estonia piano came up on the list; would> anyone familiar with these pianos care to comment more. > > I don't know these Estonia pianos, but now have one client with a > 6'grand Estonia that has a curious tone.> > This client seems convinced it is a very high end piano.
