Now, I change the pads first rather than last, go check on other pianos if it's in a church, read some email (on my iPhone-ha!), etc. Back when I was using an ETD, I never noticed this ... not surprisingly since I was trusting it in the temperament area without aural verification. Makes me wonder how a non-aural tuner compensates for pitch change when tuning concert grands. I'm certainly no expert at it, but I do know it's happens 'cause you hear it right before your very eyes! <G> Maybe strings change evenly -- I've never had enough time to study it since I'm generally wrestling it into submission under time constraints. But I at least want to know that it *sounds*reasonably good when I leave it. Whatever happens afterward is up to the room and the piano.
