You really should check out Tracfone. You don't have the $1 a day fee and
under the double minute plan you can get the cost down to less than 9 cents a minute.   <snip>

You should check just a bit further into TracFone's offers...since I rarely use up the minutes before the time period is up, I have a plan that charges $5.45/month just to keep the service going...if I use only 60 minutes a year, I don't have to keep buying minutes.  It STILL ends up costing very little, even with the service charge (or maybe BECAUSE of the service charge, since I don't have to buy additional minutes until I'm running out).  

Just a thought...
