Julia As Conrad said, the screw on the top of the wippen can be used to adjust the tension of the rep spring. But on older actions, these screws are sometimes very hard to turn, or they've been screwed?down so?much, going any further won't make any difference. What I've done is remove the spring from the cord, and bent it backwards. That increases the tension, and will actually give you more than you need. If the screw is too tight to even back out, just push down on the spring with a screw driver.
