Hi Paul
Done a couple of these. The sticker material is probably felt as was the one s I did. The sos. is removable My clients don't use them. The entire sticker system is a separate system with the action sitting on top of that. So I feel it's an advantage to have these little light weight stickers attached to the key stickers. If you replace the entire action just take it from me that damper spring tension & jack spring tensions must be low/minimal in order to avoid a nasty heavy feeling action. The action leans significantly out at the top or towards the front & so there is s significant element of gravity working in favor of nice touch weight. WHen set up right it's a phenomal feeling piano. You may recall this one, we did a resurrection on,new belly & all.
Love this old girl. Hope this works out. Yes, time to be rewhatevered.
 Dale

Some center pins are walking out of the damper flanges and hammer flanges.  The double flange with hammer and damper attached cannot be removed because the sustenuto rod is in the way.  The stickers are attached to the keys with a “mystery” material, glued to the sticker and clamped to the key stick.  What material should I  use to repair/replace this connecter?  The customer knows the challenges with this instrument a
nd is willing to make repairs and service to keep it working.  The case has been restored, but nothing much has been done to the action.  It’s the oldest working piano I’ve seen that is still being played.
