Alan, I find the Ronsen hammers to be the closest to the Steinway hammers of yesteryear. I really can't comment on the more recent hammers. I haven't worked on enough new Steinways to make a reasonable assessment. Hi Al, I appreciate your praise for Steinway hammers: It compels me to check my negative predisposition towards them. That said, why are Ronsens your preferred replacements? Julia, This is definitely good advice from David. I have had the opportunity to shape and voice over 2000 sets of Steinway hammers. They are excellent hammers, but I have always used Ronsen hammers for replacements, except when Steinway or another brand is requested by a customer. May I suggest the new Weickerd felt from Ronsen. I am very impressed with them. Al ------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Worried about job security?
