Hi Don,

Perhaps I didn't make myself clear. I have used both, in fact the bottle of
Lunsford's sitting in my shop is probably almost 10 years old since I have
been using CA for all of the pianos I have treated during that time.
My point was that comparatively the 13 year provenance of CA treatment
versus the 40 plus year provenance of Lunsford's means, again I say, IMHO,
that they are both worthy tools in our arsenal and should be viewed as such.
Experience and the future plans for the piano come into play here. I
wouldn't use lunsford's on a block I planned to re-pin but I would use CA. I
should hasten to add that I have never re-used a block but remain open to
the possibility.

I have found CA to be superior to Lunsfords in the cases I have used it thus
far but as we all know or should realize as we continue in this profession
the same plan or treatment doesn't fit every piano.
I prefer to keep an open mind to most of what I see and read on this list
filing away the info gathered for the day when the opportunity to use it
presents itself.

There are some things that I am not in favor of and when they present
themselves I say so, this was not one of those cases but rather a call to
consider both as options. From my perspective of having used all 3 products.

Mike
