200 proof is almost impossible due to the hygroscopic nature of ethanol. Benzene or Acetone added to the ethanol is needed to approach 200 proof, but that poisons the alcohol. The purest ethanol that one can buy is called Ever-Clear on its bottle....it was a common additive for those Frat house party punches! Oh, those were the days! Berley A.
