David, The Renner Hammer Boring Jig has the "Rake Angle" built into the device. See: http://www.lloydmeyer.com/productcart/pc/viewPrd.asp?idcategory=8&idproduct=26 You can set the rake angle, as well as the boring angles. I have spent many a happy hour using this tool. I made the purchase when I needed to bore hammers for a Charles M. Steiff Upright, followed by a Grand of the same make. Now, unless I order pre-hung hammers, I bore my own. There is a rake on some grand hammers as well. The rake angle is achieved by changing the angle of the drill press platform. If you are using a small drill press with a fixed platform you have to shim up one side of the boring jig. The rake angle is not adjustable on the jig itself. I'm particularly wondering if it is capable of boring the extreme rake angle found on the old S&S uprights. Thanks, - Mark -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
