[pianotech] pay as you go--more

I am so sorry for being unclear about the “pay as you go” question. The conversation has veered away from my intent.

There are adult students who attend weekly training sessions by a local RPT and have attended our local chapter meetings. They are sincere and have demonstrated a willingness to give of their time and gas money to learn. It appears from the email chatter that such a decision should be made on the local level by the local chapter.

Thank you for your input.

We don't do that here. The main problem with many people is that they simply do not know how to save money. $265 or whatever our dues are, is not a lot of money spread out through an entire year.

Hello,
Do any other chapters offer a “pay as you go” to new members who are financially unstable but show a lot of interest and motivation?

I hope you are NOT saying that borrowing money is the way to start a business off right.

Lack of finances becomes a chronic disease. Let him borrow it from somewhere else. If he wants to start a business then start it off right. For instance, we have many associate (and RPT) members in our chapter who have never been to a convention after 20 years, because they are waiting to be able to afford it.
