Oh yes! Good point! Sometimes it doesn't get in the way, but more often than not it does, so I tend to just take 'em all out. If the left pedal has been well-used, the "celeste" felt has sometimes been cut to ribbons by the strings. Best regards, David. I don't think anyone mentioned about removing the felt strip on wood, soft pedal assembly that some have. Tilt the action toward you, and slip the mute rail out of it's slots.
