Win,

This all sounds very interesting and I'd like to give it a try. My questions is, where do you tap? How do you find where to tap?

go to http://www.emofree.com/ for all the information you'll need about EFT.

Tapping is a sequence of tapping the tips of your fingers on 10 part of your head and body followed by tapping on your hands and finger. All of that tapping is preceded by saying a statement to yourself about the condition you have, and saying something while you are tapping.

At first it sounds kind of "hokey", which was part of the reason I was very skeptical. To be honest, it does sound like "witchcraft", but after you get used to what your doing,

and see the results it gets, you almost get to the point of looking forward to "tapping".

good luck

Wim

Thank you for your in depth comments. Here's what I know. First of all, the people who intr
oduced EFT emphatically state that EFT is not the cure all of everything, and that above all, one should not give up on a doctor. After all, there are some things only surgery or "real" medicine can cure. (As an aside, I tore a cartelege in my knee several years ago playing racquet ball, and no amount of tapping would fix it. I finally had to have arthoscopic surgery to fix it).

Second, EFT was more or less started by someone who was being treated by acupuncture, but one day he couldn't get to the acurapuncturist, and decided to "tap" on the same meridians that the acurapuncturist had done, and lo and behold, his aches went away.

Third, even though have I have used EFT successfully for several ailments, I still have a problem with accepting it as a "cure" for deep depression. My wife has done a lot of tapping on her depression, and we've discussed at great length some of her concerns. There comes a point at which we have accepted the fact that some of her problems are very deep rooted and need professional care.

But the bottom line with EFT is that it's free, and as "they" say, what have you got to loose by trying it? I was very skeptical for a long time, until I tried it on a couple of mino r problems, and I got rid of them. One was a very sore shoulder. It was so bad I couldn't raise my right arm above my shoulder. I talked to a friend of mine who had the same symptoms, and he had it
corrected with rotator cuff surgery. So one night before going to bed I tapped on it for 10 minutes, and the next morning, the pain was completely gone, and has not come back.

As far as the tinnitus is concerned, I tapped on it Friday night, and the next morning the ringing was gone. It's now 7:30 Sunday night, and we just came back from the symphony, and it's still quiet.

That EFT is highly controversial among psychologists ( I am psychologist). Most "studies" that show an effect are based on retrospective self reports of single cases. But these studies used no randomized groups or control groups at all. On the other hand there are very few more or less well conducted studies that reveal at least some clues on a mild effect for healing phobias. But that ´s not so astonishing for psychologists because phobias belong to the mental disorders that can be cured very effective and reliable. That´s achieved by repetitive confrontation with the stimulus of anxiety. That therapy works "in vivo" as well as "in sensu". During an EFT session the subject might be concerned with the anxiety stimulus, consciously or unconsciously. Therefore it basically works like the confrontation therapy. So, no whichcraft is involved, at least for curing phobia. And like always: who cures is right! Placebo effect s
hould be considered as well. Psychologists estimate that the effect of medicaments is based between 20 to 80 percent on the placebo effect. Usually it´s much higher with invasive methods like surgery or injection. A few years ago there was a very interesting study by German health insurances to explore the effectiveness of acupuncture. Trained professional acupuncturer applied the "right" method compared to bogus needling, i.e. they needled anywhere but not into the energetic meridians. The result was astonishing. First they found out that acupuncture works better for headache or chronical knee or back ache than medicaments . Second, there was no difference between real and bogus acupuncture. Since then German health insurance pays for acupuncture.

As far I know the reason for tinitus is not so clear in scientific research. One approach is that it is a malfunction of the brain (even when massive noise exposure was involved). The neurons are firing excessive synchronic. There is an20interesting new approach to inhibit the synchronic firing by applying noises via headphones. These noises are not random but calculated by a certain algorhitmus, depending on the frequency of the tinitus. The researcher hope to cure with that neurostimulator also other disorders where synchronic neuron firing is involved, such as tremor or epilepsy. They achieved healing rates of 70 percent.

I just Googled the letters, and it directs me to a site.   http://www.emofree.com/

Wim, you should have put the site up, to point us in the right direction.

Mind you, I just glanced at the site, and it seems to cure everything., so maybe, Witchcraft isn't too far off. :-)

Stop looking for witch doctor cures and protect your ears with professionally fitted ear plugs before it’s too late.

I agree that younger tuner should do what Robin says. However, there are many of us "older" tuners who learned of the benefits of ear plugs after it was too late, and I resent the implication that the cure for tinitus I am talking about is witch craft. EFT is a boniffied method of eliminating medical and emotional problems. EFT is becoming one of the most recognized methods of curing all sorts of problems, including Post War Syndrome soldiers are suffering from coming back from Iraq and Afghanistan.

I wonder how many of you guys/Gals with Tinnitus wear proper ear plugs? ...I would say a very few of you ;-(

Tinnitus is one of the first signs of ear damage which leads to the downhill path of complete deafness in one or both ears. Stop looking for witch doctor cures and protect your ears with professionally fitted ear plugs before it’s too late.
