Hello John If this is a real Apollo it was built by Melville Clark. Its soft pedal lifts the hammer rail and does not shift the action. Also it will probably not have a wooden pin block. If it is a Wurlitzer with the " Aplllo " name on it (Wurlitzer bought M.Clark) it could still have the "uni-plate' tuning system (metal pin block). If so we have found it is the best to string it without removing the pins. The action is probably one of two brands. Thayer or Schwander. both made a two piece shank and butt.
