[pianotech] Probelm with Business License. Please help!

Hy,

It could very well be the case that the clerk you spoke to only has a
partial understanding of what you said. "Theoretically," there is no reason
you can't do some action work in an agricultural area. Or she may have
thought you were going to be moving pianos in and out every day, selling
them, whatever.

An awful lot of people only read the first part of a sentence in the rule
book. For example, I almost did not pass my physical exam for my Private
Pilot license one time. The nurse recited the rule, then showed it to me in
the book. I read beyond the comma where she had stopped, and it was clear to
me that she was incorrect in stating that I had not passed. I don't recall
if she ever did figure it out, but someone (the doc, I suppose) did and I
did pass.

On the other hand, I have a friend who was venturing out in self-employment
as a computer consultant. His business would be conducted entirely at client
sites, just like going to a "regular" 9-5 desk job, but he was required to
get signatures of his neighbors stating that they did not object to him
running a business from his home.  Go figure.
