Sorry, been out busting inharmonicity. How long is long? Ron O's numbers correspond nicely to my experience, so physics apparently works about the same in Sydney as it does in Wichita. Perhaps it's the latitude... It's not that you can't eventually make a long (45mm) duplex quiet enough to qualify as tolerable, it's that you are too often forced to try, while a shorter (25mm) duplex is never noisy in the first place. So what, pray (prey is more accurate), is the benefit of tuned front duplexes? This discussion ought to be on the CAUT list too, incidentally. Ron N
