I have a Yamaha G7 (the only one I've ever seen) in a church basement 
choir room. Twice now, I've removed the lid and remounted the hinges - 
my myself. They like to mic the thing for recording, with a big fat cord 
that they position near a lid hinge, then close the lid and pry the 
hinge screws out. I use a moving pad or two as a buffer, and can get the 
lid off and back on alone without further damage. I do the same with 9' 
Steinways, but I think the weight of a CFIII lid (polyester) would send 
me looking for another lifting body. Limitations, after all, are real. 
The trick is in not defining them forensically by the resulting debris 
field after the fact. Sometimes we do that, sometimes not...
