What you are doing is not so different from the shell inlays in guitars 
and other musical instruments. Go to mimf.com (Musical Instrument 
Makers Forum), register, and search their archives. Shop at stewmac.com 
or lmii.com for jewelers saws and other tools, also how-to books for 
cutting and inlaying.
