Duane, If you are on a slower connection you can use NoScript or NotScript to block JavaScript which will block the loading of the Google Translator. You will have to remember that you have done that because there may be some other functions in the site that need the JavaScript. I find the site is sometimes very slow and sometimes not. It will probably slower the first time you visit.
