While we're on the subject: I'm replacing the felt on a muffler rail on an upright. (Mouse damage.) What's the best glue for gluing the felt to the metal rail? Common choices are PVC-E, PVC-A, C/A glue (needs to be very thick C/A to prevent soaking into the felt too much), or epoxy. The PVC glues are good to carry because they also work well for minor wood repairs in many cases. The piano was the new carbon fiber (black plastic) type of action. I used some white glue I had in my case and when it got tacky I reassemble it. Worked fine! Played it a hundred times. Day later I get a call-back, the jack is clanking again. Did I use the wrong type of glue for this material? CA perhaps? Phil Ryan Miami Beach
