Have you tried replacing the hammer rest rail fetl? Also, make sure the rest rail brackets are are tight in the rest rail, and that the brackets are tight in the action brackets. And last, make sure all four or five action brackets are solid and tight on each of the bracket posts, and that none of them are loose in the keybed.

    As I said in the post, it clunks even when I hold the back 
f the key down, lift up the wippen and let go  (key out of the 
icture except for the capstan screw and possibly sound being 
ransmitted into the keybed via hard backrail cloth (?))
