[pianotech] brass look finish

Hi List (sorry-- double posting for those who haven't made the change), 

A friend is refinishing her piano (really). Some of the hardware is solid brass, and some is either brass plated, or the pieces have just a finish on them that makes them look the color of brass. I am totally not informed on this kind of thing. Is there such as thing as a spray can finish or wipe on (not those opaque spray paint things) that would give the look of brass?
