[pianotech] another puzzler

I had one the other day. It was a Story and Clark studio piano and the
complaint was a sticky E4. Taking everything apart to inspect for friction
points the problem disapppeared. Turned out that it was the fallboard
assembly support screw that sticks up between E4 and F4. The screw was bent
towards the E4 key and with the fallboard in place its weight was enough to
push the screw against the key, not a huge amount, but just enough that it
provided barely enough extra friction to cause the intermittant sticky key
problem.
