Thanks for the becket breaker advice Ed. I just bought one at the MARC and hope to use it soon. As for the strings flying, there is a you-tube video that has a gentleman restringing a piano at a (television?) studio in Vermont using a becket-breaker. He put 2 or 3 heavy moving pads over the strings below the pins to keep them from flying. There wasn't a close up shot to see if there were any scratches but that seemed to work.
