Dave asked:
" I need to replace the bass strings on a screw stringer upright, does
anyone have a stringing process for these they'd be willing to share?
And/or a source of spare parts if any break? They seem healthy but you
never know..."

--Dave,
I have used screw stringers. One thing that I've deduced is that a bit of lubrication is need on just about every one I've encountered. Lube the threads with "Tri Flow". I've found that to be the best. The stringers always break on the threaded part and the "nut" part is seized on the thread.<G> As far as how to do it? I"d advise you cut off the bass sting of one and peruse all of the various bends
The how"s will become self evident> Oh< make sure you have the "nut" at it"s farthest when you put the new string on to counter the slip of the "knot" and the stretch of the string>
Hope that helps<
joe
