I don't own the Onesti system, but it looks like a nice setup. I replace balance rail holes with a mortised in blank, and drill them after installation with a jig made from the key before cutting the mortise. I started doing this with the first shoe installation when I de-accelerated an action to stiffen the keys, and decided it works as well as anything else for balance hole repair too. I since found that I could drill from the top, through the original hole to drill the shoe, then ream for thickness afterward - but that's a different discussion. Ron N
