I'm not the important issue here, the >dysfunctional software and lack of solutions are Will's a smart guy. I'm sure he recognizes complexity and nuance. At this point, while it may, on the face of it, seem an irrational leap to blame the Board, you ought to acknowledge the depth of frustration and distrust that has been percolating over this issue in the last year. For my part, I would note that it was a bit hypocritical of me to attempt to inject levity into his honest expression of exasperation, and yet I got pissy when Keith McGavern and Terry Buckingham did the same to me in response to my complaint about a posting delay on one of the new lists - Off-Topic. Since I mentioned Terry, however, I would like to respond to something he said with regard to this current discussion: >Date: Wed, 01 Feb 2012 10:08:57 -0600 >From: Terry Beckingham <t46xd8jb at xplornet.com> >Subject: Re: [pianotech] dues payment fiasco > >I am pretty darn sure that putting the discussion on PTGL would not >have any more effect than leaving it on this list. They (whoever >they are) don't care. What I was suggesting moving to PTG-L was not the discussion of the mechanical problems Will encountered, nor whether the Board ought to be responding more effectively in dealing with the whole range of list issues. It was the overtly political aspects that remain inappropriate for this list. Also, and not to be provocatively critical, Terry (a fine fellow, I'm sure) is very likely incorrect about its effectiveness AND whether THEY care. As it happens, PTG-L am us. Every one of us PTG members. Whether or not I am an Hired Logic booster (I'm not), I am as baffled as the Home Office is as to why so few of the membership subscribes to that list. Yeah, sometimes it's boring, but it's there for us, the membership. If we don't use it, it's our fault. Simple as that.
