Hi, Paul and Rob!
paul got  very good advises on that broken leg repair.
I had good experiences clamping hard -to-clamp pieces with Automotive  
hose clamps. Try it-it works.
I still prefer to secure Titebond glue joints with Hammer Shank Dowels.
And don't forget to VJ the Hanger bolt!
