I think I might work out (on a piece of wood scrap?) exactly what size mortise will work with the .137 pins plus your thinnest bushing cloth, and make up a file to fit that. Maybe if you ground off the ridges for about 1/3" on one of them, and beveled the end somewhat you could use the other the other file to enlarge the mortise (one side, then turned to the other side) so you wouldn't have to bash your way in.
