[pianotech] Stretch in Tuning(s)

None of this long round of argumentation gets to the point or purpose of my
question, so I request it just be dropped. I asked a "can this be done"
question. It hasn't been seriously addressed, so too much effort has
already been wasted on it. Let it go please.

And who is able to make them smarter, except people who can compare what
the machine is giving them to what their ears are telling them?

I just heard a report on NPR about the shortage of nurses in hospitals.
There is a shortage because, as one nurse said, there are too many patients,
and the hospitals are not keeping up. The reason there are more patients is
because of the new technology that is keeping people alive longer, even when
their health is worse. So technology is working to keep people alive, but no
matter how good the technology is, hands on, personal care is still needed
to take care of the patients. Get the point?

To the extent that is true, our profession, sadly, is moving downhill
toward less capability, less willingness to invest effort, and greater
ignorance.

Assuming the operator is up to it as well. And to what extent are the
symphonies and music studios, etc., just forced to accept who's out
there for lack of better options?
