Jpe: I missed that one, about Pallet Rods. Never heard of them, but they will save a lot of unnecessary labor. BTW, the toothpick repair on the key mortises did the job, except on the 8 keys where the mortise was so chewed up that I had to resort to widen them enought to accept felt bushings. Thanks again for your help, and I am grateful that someone knows the ins and outs of repairing these old relics. Patrick
