Recent postings mentioning Protek CLP and McLube prompted some thoughts. I can't readily find the MSDS for Protek CLP online. I am sure it could be had from the supply houses, but I checked Schaff online and couldnt see an MSDS available online. I also wasn't able to find out much about PROTEK Products INC, P.O. Box 385 Smithtown , NY 11787 They don't seem to have a website or online presence. Given that piano lubrication is rather a niche market, do you think that PROTEK Products INC are actually formulating a fluoropolymer lubricant of their own from raw ingredients? Or are they just repackaging an existing product from bulk, that gets used for other applications? I was looking at SLiP2000 Gun Lube http://www.slip2000.com/slip2000_gunlube.php When you look at the applications and actions, it would seem to offer what we need in a centre pin lubricant. And it even mentions musical instruments! But the blurb says it does not contain "PTFE type ingredients". I presumed that Protek CLP does. What do you think might happen if one applied SLiP2000 Gun Lube to sluggish piano action centres? Best regards, David. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
