It's held together by either screws or friction. If you have already
removed screws, the finish might be holding it in place. Tap...*gently*. If
you can't locate screws, then *gently* pull in the middle or ends to see
where the screws are. There should be some "give" at various places.

It might be one of those pianos that have slots that the rail slides on.
Some Story & Clark consoles have top lids like these.

Don't panic...examine. Figure it out. It's just a piano. ;-)
