I use split punchings. And have to re-learn how to put the little stinkers
on every time. Well, sort of have to re-learn. It gets easier the more it's
done.

Yes to the felt punchings. No to the paper punchings. I don't think paper
compresses (at least not much for all you total nerds out there that could
measure less than .001"--ha!), but the felt surely does.
