I've done a similar thing on occasion, but instead of using a teapot, I have a pressure steamer called "Sgt. Steam". I put the appropriate size calls into the bushed holes before I steam them. The bushings cannot be too worn however.

was very impressed with the results. In conjunction with replacing a few
individual bushings with excessively high wear (where keys are badly angled),
it looks like the life of a set of bushings can be extended considerably.
