An arbor press is a stand which holds a square shaft with gear teeth operated up and down by a spline gear shaft with a handle at one end and a rotatable die holder table upon which great pressure can be exerted, 1 two or 3 tons per square inch. Very effect for pressing, gently, straight and slowly a lead weight into it's hole. It can be used to press a weight to enlarge it's diameter, swaging leads in place, smashing fingers and making other things go mash. It can be used to make small parts for machinery. Jewelers have tiny ones for pressing shafts into gears. Newton
