Bedding: the process of making sure each rail, back, center and
front, are firmly seated upon the keybed for firmness of touch, lack
of noise and resistance to changes caused by weather and heavy
pedaling.

The process involves making sure the back rail cannot move up or down
but will freely move left and right.

The front rail touches the keybed at all points with the keyblocks in
place and the key end pins are not forcing the center of the front
rail into the air. Sanding, planing or shim forcing the rail down or
up as needed.

THe center studs are then set to seat firmly on the keybed without
raising the front or back rails from their secure positions.

The art is in making this so.
