Take FACs from each piano, average them together and tune them all to that set of numbers. I have had to do this a number of times and although you will notice some variations in tune values on one or two of the pianos they will sound fine even played as solo instruments. The variations are not that audible. As to Jim Kennear's question; yes you have been missing issues of some consequence, namely inharmonicity. This is not an issue if all you have been doing is tuning pianos with no problems but when you tune two or more pianos together the differences between the pianos can make a hugh difference in results. Finally if you do any rebuilding you need to understand inharmonicity so you can do a job well. Do a search in the archives on that term and you will find more than you ever need to know on the subject. :) Newton
