Resident Piano Technician

Rolf-
This is quite profound! And I'd never heard it before.
Since going private, I've been on the chase for "billable hours," and
much of my concern in managing my business is janitorial - though I hadn't
quite seen it that way yet. When the janitorial work is done well, the
"real work" goes smooth and fast.
But can I afford to pay myself, and charge the customer, as much for
janitorial work as for technical work? Maybe it would be better to hire a
janitor than a second technician! One reason home tuning is so profitable is
that the janitorial aspect is low.
