Things are a bit different here. Those things that are outside my contract (ie: other deptartments w/ functions not directly music related) are done on a fee basis. I can then make that a donation to my piano budget through the U if I so choose. Last year I did some work where there was a direct budget transfer without it going through me -- I felt the pain at tax time when I saw the tax benefit I could have realized. The money still goes to the same place, and is done with the knowledge & support of my dept. head. Jim is willing to help work it out so everyone benefits.
