Hi Folks: I'm new on this list, and I'm not sure if I will stay very long if this stuff is what it's all about. I think this is really ironic. The kind of piano technicians with whom I am associated do their best to put pianos, concert grands in particular, in the best performing condition possible, and I believe the same is true of you folks. Then here come certain "professors", or whoever else, who put stuff and do-dads in them to goof them up and make them sound funny. Fifty three years ago, I took a few piano lessons from a professor who was then head of the Music Department of the University of Tennessee. I learned a lot in just a few lessons. That man was serious about playing real music, and teaching his pupils to do the same. He would have gone through the ceiling if one of his associates had done, or even permitted, something like this.
