The first thing I have to teach is nomenclature. I try to cover all aspects in an introductory way, just to make the students aware of what a piano is all about. My outline covers all the aspects you mentioned. I think the piano department decided on what to call the class. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Eric Wolfley Head Piano Technician Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music University of Cincinnati ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ -----Original Message----- From: Wimblees@aol.com [mailto:Wimblees@aol.com] Sent: Wednesday, March 12, 2003 11:55 AM To: caut@ptg.org Subject: Re: possible committee members for developing curriculum? Is it the opinion of everyone that the class will be as stated above? Or will this be a class, which I would like to refer to as "The care and feeding of your piano." This would be more along the lines of teaching what a piano is all about, and how to take care of it. Included in this class would be a section on the physics of sound, different kinds of woods used in the manufacturing of a piano, how the piano works, and how all the action parts work, for both uprights and grands. Does any one teach a class like this already? Wim ---------------------- multipart/alternative attachment An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
