I always put it in the front because we all know what has happened to Baldwin (though I wouldn't blame it on where they put their tricord felts) plus it seems that the string spacing would be more regular in the front due to the agraffes. We have dozens of Baldwin grands here and the dampers seem to work just fine with the tricords in back. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Eric Wolfley Head Piano Technician Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music University of Cincinnati ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ -----Original Message----- From: Wimblees@aol.com [mailto:Wimblees@aol.com] Sent: Wednesday, September 03, 2003 2:07 PM To: caut@ptg.org Subject: front or back In the midsection, do we put the trichord felt in front, and the pad in the back, or the other way around?
