<< Everything else about these parts is fine, and as the instrument itself is waiting in cue for a "major," would like to extend it's utility a few years. Can the springs be purchased seperately, anywhere? >> Greetings, I have restored the springs in these whippens before. Depending on the vintage, you may want to straighten them out as opposed to replacement. The nickle,(or some other silver looking coating) springs are not likely candidates, as they like to break. However, the copper covered springs are pretty malleable and somewhat resistant to corrosion and are usually able to take the bending required to get their shape back. Time involved is far less than replacement, too. If the parts are going to be replaced in the near future, I suggest trying to rebend the existing ones.
