It's easy to over-do it when bending the wire. Light pressure is all it takes.
A bench grinder did the bulk and a Dremel did the detail; a file dressed it.

The "Strate Mate" has a very small wheel and I fear would klnk the wire.
It took no time to grab a scrap strip of pin block trimming,
drill a hole and bang in a used spinet caster.
