The bracing helps considerably, but the belly rail is still 
cantilevered out over the back action and not well supported at the 
point where the soundboard is attached. I've been installing and 
epoxying in a couple of 5/8" diameter steel rods clear through and 
perpendicular to the belly rail and into either a brace, or the rim. 
These act as both stiffeners and mass load. Ron Overs' use of the 
coupling between the belly rail and the plate flange has a similar 
effect. On the D, I also added a chunk of brass under the belly rail 
in the top section.

The principals are the same, so results are similar. Del's early 
postings to the list are definitely what got me started on design 
modifications.
