I've been installing and epoxying in a couple of 5/8" diameter steel rods clear through and perpendicular to the belly rail and into either a brace, or the rim. These act as both stiffeners and mass load. Ron Overs' use of the coupling between the belly rail and the plate flange has a similar effect. On the D, I also added a chunk of brass under the belly rail in the top section. >Is this somewhat a copy of Del Fandrich's design modifications? The principals are the same, so results are similar.
